The Fold, in the words of owners Will Tooby and Tom Jardine, is "a not for profit community enterprise mixing elements of inspiration, creativity and healing to provide a space away from the commercial norm where members of the public can take time to become who they truly are". More prosaically, it needed a hot water supply for its kitchens etc, and solar was the obvious choice given the strong ethical principles driving the organisation. Two Eco-47-1500-20 panels were selected, controlled by a Resol BS4. The system has been installed since early 2007 and is working well, as can be seen from the photo of the controller showing a cylinder temperature of over 60°C.
